I don't know much about Shaekspeare. I don't even know how to spell his name. But his words "Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow" is so true. After a whole wonderful summer of fun playing together, doing things together, sharing joy and heartache - it's time for us to go our different ways. Yes, we'll see each other and perhaps be doing things together. Yes, we might still meet each other playing on different teams during fall-ball. Yes, we might still open our books together. But the closeness and oneness of my coaches and my fellow-players - I will terribly miss!

When I started this webpage, I said that individual statistics and awards will not be available. How proper was that! After a whole summer of 45 tournament games, there are no superstars in our team. There is not even one superstar! But we are champions! Nobody was outstanding but we are champions!

I took Chemistry last semester. I passed. But I learned more about Chemistry playing with my team. Every coach and every player just fit the role of that essential element. Our coaches are so knowledgeable about the game. But what I admire in them is that they know so well how to encourage us. Never was a player placed in an embarassing or uncomfortable situation. Our coaches are like the U.S.Marines. They are the first ones on the practice field with the heavy equipment and the pitching machine and the last ones out with the same heavy stuff - that's after running and playing with us. How they can keep up with us 16&under when they are 45&over beats me!

To my fellow players, our coaches and our families - thank you very much for such a great summer. Others can have their Hawaii and their Disneyland and their Yosemite - but for us, diamonds are what we want.

At one point in my life, I might lie about my age. That point in my life is next year. I am 16 again next year. I don't want to leave my team!
